anyone know what this is?
it sprang up in a bed that had only irises
(and weeds)
and unlike all the other weeds
there were no others like it

It looks like a yucca, aka needle and thread plant. I don’t think it’s very common that they just pop up though! Definitely not a weed! Very cool!

i think you are right at first i wasn’t sure i always thought of them as being more desert plant with hard, spikey leaves
but after googling it and reading in wikipedia (the ultimate in info i know) i think you may be right still not sure how it came to my house but i’ll keep it
i also learned that it can be used as a fish stunner you never know when you may need that! :)
