it sometimes still amazes me that i live so close to such an amazing part of god’s creation

we don’t go there often but i continue to be amazed every time we go

at the sheer power of the river and the falls

at the timelessness of area around

buildings that have been there for more than a hundred years

surround by rocks that have been there so much longer than that

the wonder of something that man had nothing to do with
that is utilized, but not manipulated
like a wild animal in a zoo – contained but still dangerous
to be respected
not controlled

i could stand at the edge
for hours
contemplating life and the universe

maybe someday i will go on my own so i can

  1. I LOVE that first photo. I almost forgot how pleasant the falls can be when it’s not 10 degrees outside! : )
